Further, there is some news background including quotes from GD reps here about their decisions: http://deadnews.blogspot.com/ (check the archives there). Additional quote that may not have made it into that blog is given here: http://www.philzone.com/phil-msg-060105.html

Don't just take the fan hearsay in forums.

"Don't just take the fan hearsay in forums."

Is there anyway to highlight this wisdom in bold and enlarged fonts?
Thanks, Diana for your sense and sensibility.
Ever Grateful,

The Grateful Dead thing went on for several weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas. We heard from the band members after several days. Everybody was all over the place regarding the Archive's sound boards. Weir was the only one, to go so far out on a limb, that some of his comments made no sense at all.

Coverage eventually expanded to greneral circulation newspapers, magazines, NPR and CNN. David Gans and others were heard on the San Francisco news/talk stations.

How anyone missed this in the middle of a head's revolt is beyond me...

Great job on that! :) I think you missed only one from McNally about "a great communication snafu" though?

That was relix.com 11/30/05 as a news item (still in their archive at the moment).

I liked that one but didn't include it originally because the article didn't have a complete quote. I added it now, though, because of your suggestion. :)

p.s. thanks again for your great work...

The end of that snafu item (it was from about 3PM PST that long, long day) has a fuller quote from him, "'It is my understanding that by the end of the day, the audience tapes will be restored to archive.org,' McNally said by phone. "
